Pastor In Trouble As Boy Dies During Spiritual Bath

A 25-year-old pastor, Samson Bamgbose, was, yesterday, arraigned before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrate Court, Isabo, Ogun State for allegedly causing the death of a church member, who drowned during a spiritual bath.

Bamgbose, a pastor at the Celestial Church of Christ, Alaapa, is facing a one-count charge of negligence.

The police prosecutor, Mr Paul Etusi, told the court that the offence was committed on August 15 at 3p.m. in Ogun River, Alaapa village, Abeokuta.


He said the accused took some church members, including the deceased, Toheeb Odusanya,13, to the river for spiritual bath.

“Bamgbose took the little boy to the river without his parent’s consent. He did not take the necessary precaution, and allowed the boy to drown,” the prosecutor said.

Etusi said the offence contravened section 344 of the Criminal Code of Ogun, 2006.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate, Mr Anthony Araba, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till October 2.

Rapper Vector Proposes To mz kedike

Lol, is it true Vector proposed to Chidinma Ekile?. Well we don't know who leaked the pic. But some are saying it's true, some are saying it is not. Nollywood Actress Sentenced to 2 Months Imprisonment For Stealing iPad and iPhone

An Abuja-based upcoming actress, Nancy Ndukwe has been sentenced to two months imprisonment for stealing her friend’s properties worth N190,000 in Abuja.

Nancy’s friend, Faith Njoku reported the case to the Lugbe Police station, Abuja on September 2, 2013. The items stolen included an I-pad (N100,000), I-phone (N50,000) and Jewellery (N40,000) summing up to N190,000.

Nigerian Students Don’t Want Us To End This Strike ––ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said it is continuing its nationwide strike on the advice of university students across the country.

“Our students have come out to say they don’t want us to call off the strike until the Federal Government answers us, because they don’t want us to call off now and later we go back to strike again. So, we are heeding the advice of our students.”

"There are issues and agreement they can implement without money. Why don’t they begin with those ones?"

In a telephone interview with PUNCH, the President of the union, Dr. Isa Fagge, said students were tired of the incessant industrial actions by university lecturers due to the Federal Government’s failure to implement the agreement it had with ASUU since 2009.
