4 die in Pastor T.B. Joshua’s church during stampede for holy water

At least 4 people have been confirmed dead in Pastor T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations in Spintex Road, Ghana.

The tragic incident occurred after a stampede ensued at the church today during the distribution of free holy water.

Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer DSP Freeman Tetteh confirmed the death to Joy News and said the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the 37 and Police Hospital mortuaries.

Some 13 persons were also severely injured during the incident.
Thousands of people had flocked the church in pursuit of healing, spiritual and financial breakthrough.
The holy water, to many TB Joshua followers is acclaimed to be the panacea to the many spiritual afflictions.

What were your early days like?
Both my parents are British; my mother was actually born there. I was born and raised in London. Growing up was fun for me. I am an only child, so it was relatively quiet. It was not really boring for me because I have a lot of cousins, they are more than 20. I cannot even count. I always found myself hanging out with them because a lot of them live in London and in America, so there is always something to do.
Why did you decide to come to Nigeria?
I came to Nigeria because I love acting and the country has a thriving industry, Nollywood. It provides me with the opportunity to act as often as possible. That is the main reason.
Have you ever faced sexual harassment in the industry?
There was no sexual harassment for me, not at all. I have not experienced it and I do not think I ever will. My experience since getting into Nollywood has been a positive one. I was fortunate enough to work with veteran actors and directors as well. I think I have had a good experience and it can only get better. I like to have a good rapport with everybody I’m working with. I like to be professional to the core. Most of the directors and producers I have worked with have a really good relationship with my mother. She is my manager. So, that helped the situation a great deal. They all respect my mother and we all have a family type of relationship, so to them, I am like a little sister.

Man Vomits 27 Condoms Stuffed With Drugs

Police officers at Entebbe airport in Uganda arrested a man suspected to have swallowed at least 27 male condoms stuffed with liquid narcotic drugs, Ugandanpicks reports.

The Guinean national, Alpha Camara, was intercepted at around 8:45am (+3GMT) upon his arrival at the airport. “We subjected him to a vomiting routine check, and he brought out one condom,” Mr Tinka Zarugaba, the Entebbe crime investigations boss, said.

May-D Opens Up About The Alleged Feud Between Him And P. Square

A graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos (Unilag), May D released his first singles ‘’Cool Temper’’ and ‘’Soundtrack’ in 2011 to an appreciative level of positive reviews from the industry insiders.
Later that year, he featured on Psquare`s Invasion Album, collaborating on ‘Chop My Money’ which also featured Akon on the remix and on ‘Do as I Do’ which also had Tiwa Savage on it.
In early 2012, he released his second singles ‘Ile Ijo’, ‘Gat Me High’, and ‘You Want 2 Know Me’, which featured PSquare.
In February 2013, he released ‘So Many Tinz’, which is the official last single before the release of his album.
In this interview with DailyPost, May D speaks about his entire career; how he started, and the journey so far. He also speaks about his Meiden Album launch which holds on May 26, at the ThisDay Dome , Abuja. The event is organized by Abuja number one event Manager, Kehinde Adegbite, Mr. Yankee. His relationship with the Square record is briefly exposed here.

The beginning
I started as a dancer, with the same name; May D. May D is actually from the name, Mayokun Dumila – May D. There is this usual hurdle associated with any new venture one embarks on. We all went through the same hustle, and we still “dey try”
I started out as a dancer in my secondary school, Kings’ College, Lagos. When I got into the University, Unilag, I started music professionally and even though it was tough because I was in a group facing different challenges, I persevered. There were ups and downs , but after several years, things took shape and here I am today, by God’s grace.

Man Caught With His Mother's Corpse That He Used For Rituals In Imo State

The police in Imo have arrested Mr Chimezie Osuigwe, a retired vice-principal, for the alleged murder of his 78-year-old mother. Mr. Osuigwe was arrested after the embalmed body of his mother who was declared missing was discovered in a cupboard at his house.

Billionaires Pledge Their Fortunes To Bill Gates’ Charity

Nine more wealthy families and individuals have pledged to give at least half of their fortunes to charity as part of a philanthropic campaign by two of the world’s richest men, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.
The Giving Pledge, which was launched by Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, and investor Buffett in 2010, said on Tuesday that billionaires joining the campaign included New York-based real estate magnate, Stephen Ross.
The announcement came just a few days after Florida lawmakers shot down a bid by Ross’s Miami Dolphins NFL team to win tax dollars to help finance a $350 million upgrade of the Sun Life stadium outside Miami.

Couple Arrested For Buying Twin Babies In Rivers State

Operatives at the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Ikoyi, Lagos, have arrested a couple, who allegedly bought twin babies and attempted to smuggle them out of the country.

Adenuga Soyibo and his wife Elizabeth allegedly bought the babies for N1.8million from a woman in Rivers State. The Police said yesterday that they were yet to trace the baby trader’s location.

May D Features Psquare on Debut Album [Check out album art + tracklist]

They might have had a messy separation but it seems like May D and his former bosses have settled their differences.

It was gathered that Psquare will feature on May D’s debut album which drops on May 10, 2013. The album is titled ‘Chapter One‘ and according to the tracklist revealed some hours ago, the 20-track record also features the likes of 2face Idibia, Davido, Olamide and Kay Switch.

Square Records (Psquare’s record label) on August 21, 2013 announced they were dropping May D from the label due to irreconcilable differences. May D immediately launched his own outfit Confam Entertainment, releasing new songs and videos.

May D will be launching his album on May 26 at a live concert in Abuja. The event will feature colleagues Davido, 2face Idibia, Iyanya, Olamide, Jaywon, Reminisce, K-Switch and many more.

Former Nigerian On-Air Personality Yinka Olonode Commits Suicide

Former Cool FM OAP, Yinka Olonode who hosted a show called “Get a Grip”, committed suicide about a week ago (April 29th, 2013) in Portland, Oregon, US.
At his time in Nigeria he was also a model, featuring in commercials for MTN.
Yinka Olonode, 34, of Portland, fell about 6:30 p.m. from the 15th floor of The Nines hotel at 525 S.W. Morrison St., where Departure Restaurant and Lounge is located. – Oregon Live Reports
It is reported that Yinka was having troubles in the US. Along with being an illegal immigrant in the US, he was also arrested in 2010 after a fight with his girlfriend.
Pretty sad. So tragic.

Two brothers, who were killed in Shitta area of Lagos State on Thursday night, were celebrating the birthday of one of them.

Mufutau Akewusola clocked 27 on that day and his little brother, 22-year-old Malik, joined him and few other friends to mark the day.

They were having fun at a leisure spot not far from their house beside Shitta Primary School when gunmen arrived at the scene and rained bullets on the fun seekers.

Mufutau, a graduate of Lagos State University and Malik, a 200-level student of the same institution, did not survive the attack.
